ROB KERIN
Consultant

Rob Kerin was first elected to the South Australian Parliament in 1993 to represent the electorate of Frome, which is a largely rural region in the mid North of South Australia.  The electorate includes the important regional centre of Port Pirie and theClareValleywine region.

Rob was a member of the Public Works Committee for two years before being promoted to Cabinet as Minister for Primary Industries in 1995. He also served as Minister for Natural Resources, Minister for Regional Development and Minister for Minerals and Energy.

In 1998, Rob was appointed as Deputy Premier ofSouth Australiaand Minister for Primary Industries, Natural Resources and Regional Development.

In 2001, Rob became Leader of the Liberal Party and Premier ofSouth Australia.  In 2002, the Liberal Party narrowly missed out on re-election after the State election delivered a hung parliament and a former Liberal Party MP, turned independent, sided with Labor and enabled Labor to form a minority government.

Immediately after the election, Rob was re-elected as leader of the Liberal Party and became Leader of the Opposition, a position he held from 2002 to 2006.

Rob retired from Parliament in 2008.  Since his retirement, he has been extensively involved in consulting to both the Federal and State Governments on a range of regional economic matters, as well as consulting to public and private corporations.  His understanding of the regions and the opportunities and challenges that exist for business and government in regional South Australia is second to none.  His insight into regional economic matters and his experience as a respected past Premier of South Australia and Minister in a range of portfolios makes him an excellent source of advice and guidance for us as we guide clients through the legal and strategic opportunities and risks confronting their business.
